For those who love being outdoors, have inquiring minds and are flexible as well as enjoy science, plants, and working in a hands-on environment, being involved with the greenhouse industry is a possible career.
The highly specialized teams that are involved in the day-to-day operations of a greenhouse include the following jobs: owners/operators, growers and assistant growers, technical assistants, production supervisors and managers, maintenance managers and assistants, packing facility managers, assistants and sales and marketing personnel.
Science, English and mathematics are required courses, while business and technology courses are recommended at the high school level to prepare you for university or college.
