Fondue Fun
This classic recipe is perfect for friends and family get-togethers.
2 Cups Gruyere cheese, shredded or cut into small cubes
2 Cups Swiss cheese, shredded or cut into small cubes
3 Tbsp flour
2 Cups dry white wine
¼ Cup Kirsch liqueur (or cherry brandy)
Pinch Grated nutmeg
Place flour in a mixing bowl, add cheeses and gently toss until coated.
In a sauce pan, bring wine to a simmer (not a boil). Add a handful of cheese at a time and stir constantly until cheese has melted. Add the Kirsch and nutmeg. Remove from heat and transfer to a fondue pot.
Dippers: Ontario greenhouse cherry or grape roma tomatoes, Ontario greenhouse mini cucumber chunks, Ontario greenhouse sweet pepper slices, button mushrooms, broccoli florets, cauliflower florets, asparagus spears, bread cubes, meatballs - anything you want and like!
